Document preparationFlorida Record Sealing and Expungement Paperwork
$295 Flat typing fee per record · 50% deposit to start, balance when your papers are finished
You write out your record and case information, and I type your sealing or expungement paperwork exactly as you provide it, for both steps: the FDLE application and the court petition. Available to clients anywhere in Florida, by email.
Scope
Read this first – what I do and don’t do
- Document preparation only. I type the information you give me in writing, exactly as you write it.
- These papers are not Florida Supreme Court approved forms. Under Rule 10-2.2(b) of the Rules Regulating The Florida Bar, that means I can’t ask questions to fill in blanks, choose between sealing and expungement, pick your forms, or tell you where or how to file.
- FDLE decides eligibility, and a judge decides the petition. I can’t tell you whether you qualify, and no result is promised.
- I am not an attorney and cannot give legal advice. I don’t represent you or appear in court for you.
Government costs are separate and paid by you directly. They include the nonrefundable $75 FDLE processing fee (money order, cashier’s check or personal check payable to FDLE), fingerprinting by a law enforcement agency, certified dispositions from the Clerk, and the Clerk’s charges for sealing or expunging. Jonathan never holds your government fees.
Notary add-on: FDLE requires the application to be signed in front of a notary public or a deputy clerk. Jonathan is a commissioned Florida notary public, so in-person mobile notarization is available as an add-on (see Pricing).
For one flat $295 per record
- Step one: your FDLE Certificate of Eligibility application, typed from the information you write out
- Step two: once you have your certificate, the court petition and supporting papers you list, typed the same way
- A draft for you to review at each step, plus one round of corrections you send in writing
- Final files emailed to you as PDF and Word
Not included: FDLE, fingerprint and Clerk charges, filing, mailing, and court appearances. More than one arrest or case is quoted on request.
Four simple steps
1. Fill out the intake
Use the Document Preparation intake form and write out your record and case information. It includes the required nonlawyer disclosure.
2. Pay the 50% deposit
$147.50 to start. We’ll text or email you a secure payment link. Typing begins once your deposit clears.
3. Review your drafts
I type your FDLE application first, then your court papers after you receive your certificate. You check every detail.
4. Pay the balance and file
The other $147.50 is due when your papers are finished. You submit and file everything yourself.
Read the sources yourself
Sealing is covered by section 943.059 and expungement by section 943.0585, Florida Statutes. FDLE posts its own Certificate of Eligibility instructions. My free record sealing, expungement and early termination guide summarizes the law in plain English, including automatic sealing, and links to every official source. It is educational information only, not legal advice. If you want advice about your own record, you can speak with a professional of your choosing.
Common questions
- Should I seal or expunge?
- That’s your decision, and I can’t advise you on it. The free guide and the FDLE instructions explain the difference so you can read it yourself.
- Do you file or mail anything for me?
- No. You send your application to FDLE and file your own petition. Because these aren’t Supreme Court approved forms, I also can’t tell you where or how to file them.
- Do I have to live near Vero Beach?
- No. Document preparation is done by email for clients anywhere in Florida. Notarization in person is available in our mobile area.
- How do I pay?
- Half up front as a deposit, and the other half when your papers are finished. Nothing is typed until the deposit clears.

- Our typing fee is $295 per record. Government costs are separate, including the $75 FDLE processing fee.
- What is the difference between sealing and expunging?
- Both limit who can see a record. An expunged record is removed more completely than a sealed one. FDLE decides eligibility.
