Package

Can’t Find Your Spouse? You Can Still Get the Paperwork Done.

$695 Flat fee · 3-payment option

Florida has approved forms for service by publication. A notice runs in the newspaper instead of your spouse being handed papers. I type the forms from the search facts you write down.

Scope

Read this first – what I do and don’t do

  • This package is for when you can’t locate your spouse after a real search. You do the search and write down what you did and what you found.
  • I type Florida Supreme Court-approved forms only. No custom documents.
  • You choose the forms and tell me what to type; I prepare them. I fill in the blanks with the facts you give me.
  • I give no advice on retirement accounts, pensions, QDROs, or Social Security. Or on anything else legal.
  • I’m not a lawyer and can’t give legal advice. (Rule 10-2.2, Rules Regulating The Florida Bar.)

If that’s what you need, keep reading. If you’re looking for someone to tell you what to do, I’m not the right fit, and I’d rather tell you now than take your money.

Fee: $695 flat (payable in 3 payments).

Court costs you pay directly: Clerk filing fee (about $408–$409) and the newspaper notice (the TCPalm group quotes about $300 for Indian River, St. Lucie and Martin; Okeechobee rates vary — get a quote). Fee-waiver help available as a note. Mobile notary add-on available if you want in-person signing (see Pricing).

Before typing

What you have to do first

This only works if you truly don’t know where your spouse lives. If you know the address, publication isn’t an option.

Before I type anything, you do the search and write down what you did and what you found — dates, phone numbers tried, last known address, family and friends asked, online and records searches. My intake includes a worksheet that lists the common search steps. The court form (12.913(b), Affidavit of Diligent Search) needs those facts, and they have to come from you.

What I type

From your facts

  • Petition for dissolution (the approved form that fits your facts)
  • Affidavit of Diligent Search and Inquiry – 12.913(b)
  • Notice of Action for Dissolution of Marriage – 12.913(a)
  • Default and nonmilitary affidavit forms when it’s time
  • Notice for hearing
  • A plain checklist: when to take the Notice of Action to the Clerk, how to set up the newspaper ad, and what comes back — plus filing checklist & status reminders
Good to know

Timing and limits

  • Publication cases take longer — the notice runs for 4 weeks, and then the default and hearing steps follow. Figure on a couple of extra months.
  • The official Florida form instructions explain what a court can and can’t order in a publication case. Read them before you start. I don’t advise on that.
  • You choose your forms and make every decision. I type.
