Free reportSmall Estate (Summary Administration) Basics
Losing someone is hard enough. For smaller estates, Florida offers a shorter, simpler court process.
A gentler path for families
When a loved one passes, the paperwork can feel heavy. Many families are relieved to learn Florida has a shorter process called summary administration.
The general idea
Summary administration may be available when the estate is worth $150,000 or less (not counting certain protected property such as the family home), or when the person has been dead for more than 2 years. We will help you get your paperwork ready.
What families often gather
A death certificate, a list of assets and their values, the will if there is one, and names and addresses of family members. Having these ready makes everything move faster.
